Individual Therapy
You may find yourself feeling disconnected, lonely, overwhelmed, or perhaps you are facing a significant transition. Maybe you're embarking on an exciting new phase or are curious to better understand yourself and others. You might even be here without fully understanding the reasons why. Whatever your experience, I am here to offer my support.
I firmly believe in your inherent capacity for healing. Together, we can unlock and cultivate your innate strengths. My approach is genuinely holistic, recognizing that our brain, body, mind, and spirit are inherently interconnected. Through therapy, we can navigate these internal pathways and foster growth.
In our sessions, you may experience a range of emotions—there will be moments of laughter as well as tears. We will strike a balance between exploring your past to gain insight into your current challenges and developing practical tools tailored to your unique needs for relief in the present. Our collaborative journey will be customized to ensure it aligns with your individual goals and aspirations.
Depending on your needs we may meet online, in my office, or for walk and talk therapy in nature where we will find the right pace and periodically pause for some experiential exercises such as breath work and imagery.
You can read more about which modalities we may use together or contact me so we can set up a time to talk and see if it feels like a good fit to work together.
EMDR
Compassionate Trauma Treatments Grounded in Science
“One day he told me that he’d spent his adulthood trying to let go of his past, and he remarked how ironic it was that he had to get closer to it in order to let it go.”
― Bessel A. van der Kolk, The Body Keeps the Score: Brain, Mind, and Body in the Healing of Trauma
You may find yourself here because you’ve experienced a traumatic event or feel that unresolved issues from your childhood or early family relationships are casting a shadow over your adult life. Perhaps there’s a persistent sense of being stuck, accompanied by feelings of numbness, disconnection, or heightened reactivity that are difficult to articulate.
Acknowledging your trauma and contemplating the path to healing takes immense courage. It’s natural for our biological instincts to lead us to avoid confronting trauma; however, turning towards, with compassion, is essential for healing.
In our sessions together, we will move at your pace, approaching your experiences with gentle curiosity. We’ll explore and practice a variety of techniques to prepare for trauma processing, including grounding exercises and mindfulness practices that you can rely on during moments of distress.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a powerful and effective short-term treatment for trauma and psychological distress. EMDR helps transform how your brain processes traumatic experiences, promoting healing and relief.
It successfully treats Big T traumas—significant, one-time events commonly related to experiences with violence, death, sexual assault, and verbal abuse—and little t traumas, including chronic patterns of trauma related to anxiety, eating issues, substance abuse, low self-esteem, and early childhood disruptions with caregivers.

EMDR is based on the Accelerated Information Processing (AIP) model, which suggests that trauma can overwhelm normal cognitive and neurological processes, leading to inadequately processed memories stored in isolated networks. Through EMDR, we work to activate the images and thoughts linked to your trauma, integrating this isolated material into broader neural networks. This process allows traumatic memories to be reprocessed, making them less overwhelming and more manageable.
-
Reprocesses Traumatic Memories: EMDR helps to make distressing memories less intrusive and overwhelming.
Promotes Healing: It supports the brain, body, and mind in finding relief from the effects of trauma.
Enhances Connection: EMDR fosters a deeper connection with yourself and can improve your relationships with others.

EMDR and trauma treatment are among my specialties. I conducted my doctoral dissertation on EMDR and have had the privilege of helping many clients—both individuals and couples—heal from recent and early traumas through this method. My goal is to provide compassionate support as we navigate your healing.
